For the love of learning

A friend of mine once admitted that she was uncertain if she attends learning events because she loves giving her patients the best possible treatment or whether she treats her patients to fund her love of learning. I must admit that I have the same problem; I love attending conferences and other learning events just as much as I love helping my patients to get better.

When WeeFree exercises don't or won't work

The following story is about a young woman who consulted me about a “weak bladder”. Sue (not her real name) was worried about a few episodes of urine leakage a few weeks after the birth of her second child and sensibly decided to consult a pelvic floor physiotherapist.

A grandmother's Story

Maria is a 75 year old grandmother with time for everyone else except herself. This is a story she shared with me recently. 

Last year when WeeFree Women had just been published, I was very excited about sharing my work with my friends and I posted Maria a copy of the book to read. 

False starts and new beginnings

Writing WeeFree Women and setting up this website has been a long journey for me with several false starts and hiccups along the way. The idea for WeeFree Women grew out of my own experience of incontinence as a teenager and young adult. The veil of secrecy drawn across this common problem and the limited information available led me to suffer in emabarrased silence and ignorance for many years.
